KRUG Table

KRUG table

The KRUG table forms part of the Objects of Fascination project. During the COVID-19 lockdown, CENTRAL, UR, and Maxime Delvaux took advantage of the confinement to explore shared sources of inspiration. They invited 44 peers from the fields of visual arts, architecture, and design to reflect on two questions: “What fascinates you?” and “Which object embodies your fascination?” The outcome was a collaborative series of 44 erratically shaped coffee tables titled Objects of Fascination. The stories behind all 44 pieces were compiled into a book published by Accattone and Architecture Curating Practice.

The KRUG table is composed of a series of concentric circles, resulting in an object that can be configured as a single table made of three nested elements or separated into two or three individual tables. While the smallest element functions as a coffee table, the other two—with their more ambiguous forms—challenge conventional notions of functionality and invite the user to assign new purposes to them.
